RUN TOM RUN!
NFL.com The Patriots have some serious problems at left-tackle because Nate Solider was a turnstile Thursday night.
Tom Brady was sacked on one play that had the entire coast of New England screaming in unison at their televisions.
Now a lot of people subscribe to the idea that this is the Patriots and that Bill Belichick will waive his magic wand and all will be fixed but I am not so certain.
The Patriots were missing three All Pros two of them Sebastian Vollmer and Logan Mankins with injuries. Vollmer is a mess of chronic back problems and time is not getting any kinder for him.
One thing I want to point out is that the Patriots always stock pile high picks for the offensive line. However when a rookie who was a third, second, or even a first round pick is surrounded by the All Pro talent of the Pat’s caliber that doesn’t mean they’re automatically going to be an All Pro as well.
Nate Solider was clearly out matched and somewhere retired Patriot Matt Light is having a good laugh watching Tom Brady bark at his teammate.
Now granted the line was missing key players but if Solider is the replacement for Light then I think Tom Brady is going to have the one problem he never seems to have. Protection!
Other than Tom Brady running for his life I liked what I saw from running-backs Shane Vereen and Stevan Ridley.
One quick note as much we all would like to assume that receiver Brandon Lloyd is going to suddenly be a deep threat receiver again the truth is tight-end Rob Gronkowski will be the best overall fantasy football player on the Patriots.
