PROFOOTBALLFOCUS is predicting a huge year for Arizona wide-receiver Larry Fitzgerald due to the addition of first round draft pick Michael Floyd from Notre Dame.

Floyd as predicted went thirteenth overall and second overall in this years receiver class.  See the Informers Fantasy Football Prospect Profile on Michael Floyd.

Arizona Receiver Michael Floyd could give Fitzgerald a fantasy football boost according to ProffotballFocus.

Yahoo Sports The Bears went all out cap crazy last year throwing money toChester Taylor may find new life in Arizona. anyone who showed up at Hallas Hall willing to play football.  One of the players that showed was runningback Chester Taylor who was cut by the Bears recently.

Now for Taylor the Bears offense which is coached by Mike (Traded TE Greg Olsen, demoted Johnny Knox for Roy Williams, and Pissed off every Chicago Bear Fan) Martz was not exactly a great fit for him or for that matter any other profootball player.

But in Arizona things are very different.  For one Taylor will be able to easily steal a starting role away from RB Beanie Wells and for two their is no other competition for running back.

Look for Taylor to become the steady back by October.

Cardinals vs Packers

NFL Pre-Season Week 2 Arizona vs Green Bay

COLD:  Arizona RB Beanie Wells had 11 carries for 44 yards so your asking, ‘why was he cold?’  Look at the play by play and you will see.  Wells carried the ball for repeated 2 yard gains and occasionally broke large runs not being able sustain his drives.

The problem I have with this is it shows Wells is inconsistent not making the most of all his carries.

Since his rookie season Wells has not become the RB Arizona drafted and entering his third season I don’t expect him to change now.

Wells should only be considered a desperate 2nd and a more preferred 3rd option in fantasy.

HOT:  The Packers offense was HOT!  Aaron Rodgers continues to throw darts at receivers hitting them in the numbers with ease.  RB Ryan Grant and TE Jermichael Finley played well making the most of their opportunities.  As well as receivers Greg Jennings and Donald Driver the GB offense is not even warmed up yet.  Now that is scary…

SLEEPER:  ARZ rookie RB Ryan Williams who was competing with Wells for the starting position was injured last night leaving an opening for a backup RB.

No one is going to stand out in ARZ at RB so I suspect their is going to be a free agent signing soon.  Remember the Cardinals had (key word HAD) a crowded back field and traded RB Tim Hightower to the Redskins now they will need to bring in another RB.  Keep a close watch on who they bring in because they will have possible sleeper potential.

Cardinals vs Raiders

Pre-Season Week 1 Arz vs Oak

Fantasy Analysis:

Kevin Kolb looked like a new quarterback with new team. Kolb made noticeable mistakes making plays with his feet instead of looking down field to find a receiver.  But Larry Fitzgerald was able to create catches off his face mask to bail him out.

I was more impressed with the play OAK QB Jason Campbell who was threading the needle on some great passes.  Campbell made no mistakes and was poised in the pocket waiting for plays to develop.

But remember this is pre-season and not regular season and Kolb will come off the draft board before Campbell for a reason.

I was also very unimpressed by another Cardinal RB Beanie Wells who just continues to prove he is not a starter.  Wells will not have Tim Hightower to bail him out on goal line carries since he was traded to Washington.  Also consider this if Arizona cannot run the ball that will have a huge impact on Kolb.

Kevin Kolb Arizona just feels “right”

Kevin Kolb spoke with XTRA 910 in Phoenix about being a Cardinal and why it felt “right”.

Kolb, “The coaches are great. The staff is great. The team seems to be awesome. There’s just good camaraderie here, good people, and they fit my personality. I just feel like there is a great future here.”

Kevin Kolb seems to be happy in Arizona.

QB Kevin Kolb for CB Rodgers-Cromartie and a 2nd Rd Draft Pick in 2012

I know some of you are saying ‘what is wrong with that’ and I say everything! QB Kevin Kolb is not much better right now than QB Rex Grossman.  Kolb has shown moments of significant potential followed by dread within one weeks time.

The Cardinals gave up a good defensive CB who struggled last year.  But do not blame  Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie since the Cardinals offense went three and out regularly and could never stay on the field.

The Eagles have improved the defense with a great addition as Cromartie and Asante Samuel will make it difficult for quarterbacks to find open receives.

As for Kolb do not be that guy who takes him with the first three rounds of the draft.  No matter how tempting his preseason numbers are he is just not dependable or consistent.

Adam Schefter: Arz Cardinals Orton or Kolb?

ESPN Radio Mike and Mike Show NFL Insider Adam Schefter says the Cardinals are considering Denver QB Kyle Orton rather then Eagles backup Kevin Kolb.

Matt Leinart says, “I haven’t proven anything.”

ESPN Los Angeles Matt Leinart the former USC star quarterback and number one overall draft pick in 2006 says, “…People that think I can’t play. There’s a lot of things. For me I’ve worked hard this off-season and I’m always work hard. I’m always ready. I’m always prepared and like I said it’s just always about being a quarterback, but being the right situation. For me hopefully that situation comes up this year and I can thrive and show I belong in the league and I can play because I know I can and that’s what I plan on doing.”
