Redskins QB RGIII is Going Up the Fantasy Football Rankings!

NFL.com Looks like I will have to move RG3 up on my board!

Robert Griffin looked poised, patient, and most of all he did not turn over the football. While he was credited with a fumble it appeared that running-back Evan Royster did not secure the ball on the hand off.

Also considering that the awful replacement officials who cannot even figure out which team, player, and penalty are being called also determine that fumble.

What was most impressive about RG3 was the third series. Griffin read the defensive coverage, made good decisions, and capped the play with a touchdown pass to receiver Pierre Garcon.

A lot of credit has to go to the Washington Redskins offensive line but as noted by many analysts RG3 set a tempo that was not present with fellow rookie QB Kirk Cousins and veteran Rex Grossman.

What I am most impressed with RG3’s performance is his not trying to squeeze the football into gaps but instead taking what he was given. The two balls RG3 threw over the middle to Pierre Garcon in zone coverage were perfectly placed and required patience that most rookies don’t show.

While I don’t want to bump RG3’s fantasy football value to more than a few more points it is difficult to ignore his talent. I also will be increasing the value of receiver Pierre Garcon.

What has me worried about Washington is not knowing which running-back will be the feature back behind RG3. Whoever it is they will most likely have decent numbers if the defense is off balance. However both backs Evan Royster who fumbled and Roy Helu who wasn’t impressive are nothing to be excited about.
