The Informers Top Ten Fantasy Football 2012 Draft Prospects: No. 5 RB David Wilson Virginia Tech 5’9” 206lbs and 4.41
NFL.com: Welcome again to my top ten selections for this years NFL Draft class that will provide your fantasy football team with an immediate impact on fantasy football draft day. These selections reflect the value of players in fantasy football and not necessarily the world of NFL football.
With my 5th overall selection I will take RB David Wilson who was a two sport star in football and track and field.
Wilson was named ACC Player of the Year in 2011.
Wilson’s speed and elusive running style makes him perfect for NFL running schemes. Wilson often made plays with his feet when not receiving sufficient blocking and was able to provide a highlight reel on game day’s. Wilson can also create plays as a check-down receiver averaging 5.9 yards a reception in fourteen starts his junior year.
One of the few negatives I found on Wilson was his up-right run style and his tendency to fumble. However he recorded only nine fumbles in four hundred ninety nine starts.
Wilson should be considered a third overall option at running-back possibly as high as a 8th round pick in Septembers fantasy football draft.
Here is a link to my 10th, 9th, 8th, 7th, and 6th overall pick if you missed it.
