The Pig Skin Guy With mock drafts popping up all over the place I have learned that the value of the majority of fantasy football players will not increase of decrease unless a position is opened or lost due to injury.
With that said it is time to see whose stock is on the rise and possibly just as overvalued as shares of facebook.
SI.com Peyton Manning’s looked sharp throwing the ball in spring OTA workouts.
While this is not a summer training camp and Manning will most likely not see any contact until week 2 of the NFL preseason this is still very positive news.
Keep in mind Manning sat out all of last year and did not throw during the NFL lockout. Manning is clearly healing and any signs of progress are positive signs for fantasy football fans as well as Broncos fans.
ProFootballWeekly: Seattle Seahawks Dilemma come training camp is Wilson or Flynn
ProFootballWeekly talks about about the problems with rookie Russell Wilson and veteran free agent Matt Flynn who are both expected to compete for starting QB.
The staff also talk about injuries around the league, contracts that are not finished and will players like Drew Brees and Matt Forte holdout, and is LT the veteran running back being added to the San Diego Chargers.
NFL.com Gregg Rosenthal puts all the OTA hype into perspective. It appears that every team has a player that is the next NFL superstar and every writer is putting it in print to say they saw it first.
First what is an OTA? OTA is a acronym for Organized Team Activity more or less practice.
Remember that sound bite from 76’ers guard Alan Iverson about practice?
Well Iverson was right. Were talking about practice? Really? Not a game but practice.
My tip is don’t read to much into this rookie camp garbage instead stick to what you know. When training camp begins we will have a better idea of who is NFL ready. When the second week of NFL preseason games begin we can start to separate the men from the boys. When the First NFL game is played the picture will clear and by week 7 in the NFL regular season we know what is real and what is OTA hype.
Because how the HELL are we going to judge a player in OTA practice!
FOXsports The NFL is searching for replacement referees for the 2012 season; and yes the NFL news cycle is that slow.
The NFL Referees Association have comes to what is described as an “impasse” in labor contract disputes.
In other words their is going to be a LOCKOUT!
Expect this time it will be the officials. Did I mention it has been a very slowwwww new cycle.
By the way I am compiling my fantasy football draft prospect for the 2012 Season and hope to have them and a new podcast up by the end of May. Until then I am trying to take on a lot of task here at home and at work and keep off the blog until something of substance occurs.
As you can tell this not of any substance.
So keep a look out for my 2012 draft ratings which will be up the end of May and updated after training camps begin.
ProFootballWeekly: The Ravens lose defensive OLB Terrell Suggs to injury, Goodell drops hammer on Saints players, and the tragic death of Junior Seau
ProFootballWeeklyThe staff talk about how Commissioner Roger Goodell’s Saints bounty decision has affected several NFL teams. NFL Draft aftermath. Did the Bears bust in the NFL Draft by not picking a offensive tackle to protect Jay Cutler? Did Miami make the right decision drafting QB Ryan Tannehill?
SI.com Can RG3 make a dent in a very difficult NFC East division, can Justin Blackmon be a great receiving prospect with unproven QB Blaine Gabbert, and will Trent Richardson see a heavy dose of eight in the box in Cleveland? The draft leaves many to still wonder what impact these rookies will have to the world of fantasy football.
