CBSsports Most analyst were surprised over the amount of trades, surprise selections, and the resurrection of running-backs selected in the 1st round of the NFL Draft.
While most NFL draft analyst have buried their heads in the sand only to reemerge next January to tell us all how they see the draft unfolding next year. I was happy to see Rob Rang who I believe is a very competent analyst sum up his surprises and also admit that the RB’s taken “make sense”.
SI.com Recently here in Chicago the Bears new General Manager Phil Emery explained he was targeting seven different players at the 19th pick overall.
However Emery added an interesting point in his NFL Draft observations. The one clear thing the Bears will be avoiding is players with a red flag in their playing history. While this may strike some fans as simply commonsense GM’s continue to take a gamble on high picks that have preexisting or recurring injuries.
Bring in Will Carroll who brings his insight and depth of investigation into which NFL Draft prospects are a injury risk come fantasy football draft day in September.
SI.com Don Banks looked over the NFL schedule and list eight games that will have NFL fans watching. Banks also explains who will have a much more difficult path in the NFL regular season. Hint the schedule is not very Giant friendly this year.
ProFootballWeekly Last Night the NFL released the 2012 NFL schedule and leave it to ProFootballWeekly’s Senior Editor Eric Edholm to find some very interesting story lines that you might see this upcoming season.
SportingNews Please stop listening to the people who think running backs do not deserve a top overall pick due to the false information of being labeled as injury risk, running-backs have less of a work load, and what ever other myths people create.
Former Colts GM Bill Polian regards running-back Trent Richardson as equal to Luck and RG3 in his overall value in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Bill Polian is considered a influential and trusted opinion in the NFL and is credited with the turning franchises around such as the Bills (86-93) and Colts (97-2012).
However Polian’s greatest accomplishment was creating the roster of the Carolina Panthers team that in it’s second year of existence went to the NFC championship game.
While some media talking heads are speculating Richardson’s overall value with little or no knowledge of how the NFL draft operates experts continue to refute their claims of Richardson’s overall draft value. Polian and many more former NFL scouts, front office people, and real experts who have been in war rooms are making it clear Trent Richardson shouldn’t be passed on in the NFL Draft.
"I don’t see Richardson as home-run kind of guy like Adrian Peterson. I think he beat up on some bad competition last year and you know when you saw him in the two LSU games last year he is not immortal. I think he is a very good running-back. But you don’t take a very good running -back in the first round these days. So I think Richardson is overrated."
Ok Andrew I get it you’re saying no running-back is worthy of an early first round selection not even one who is clearly going capable of being an immediate impact player in the NFL.
However your’re wrong about everything!
Trent Richardson vs LSU Defense National Championship 20 carries, 96 yards, 1 RTD! Not to mention Richardson busted the game winning rushing TD with 4:36 remaining.
Unfortunately that is all I am allowed to post in my opening argument.
SI.com So let me get this straight the Colts parted with former GM Bill Polian, former Head Coach Jim Caldwell, and former franchise quarterback Peyton Manning all to make room for a new era of Colts football.
The center piece of that new era is the number one prospect of the 2012 NFL Draft Andrew Luck. However they are seriously considering taking RG3 over Luck now?
While RG3 is the second best prospect over all in the NFL draft he is still the second best prospect.
Twitter Paul Lukas shared the pics and details of this unveiling on his twitter account. The biggest change appears to be the technology used in the fabric and some slight design changes in all the uniforms. However it is nothing of the expectations and significant changes in NCAA Football apparel or the leaked designs.
